Happy Mountain Slow (Yin)

Happy Mountain Slow: (yin)
Stillness
A completely meditative, slow and still practice (incorporating principles of Traditional
Chinese Medicine) to nurture body, mind, and soul through passive poses held for up to
5mins to target the deep connective tissues of the body (vs. the superficial tissues).
An intimate practice requiring students to be intimate with the self, with feelings,
sensations and emotions. We use props to stay supported and can improvise with pillows,
books, blankets, or you may have your own blocks and bolsters.

Classes are suitable for all levels of fitness including beginners, however a health
questionnaire must be completed before participating. For any enquiries please contact
Geraldine at loongmeiling@gmail.com or call 0431 187 387

Geraldine has instructed body/mind exercise classes for adults and children, and has managed the Happy Mountain Yoga Studio in Alstonville, for 20 years. After working in corporate fitness and various fitness centres, a desire to bring the community together through music, movement and mindfulness for the wellbeing of the whole self, led her to create such a space. Changing to an online platform offers a unique opportunity to extend her embrace to a much wider community, at the same time allowing participants an increased sense of freedom of movement, away from the constraints of their inhibitions. Geraldine hopes that participants will embrace her online classes as a place  where they can “dance like no one is watching” from the safety of their lounge rooms. Geraldine is a guitarist/singer/songwriter and has performed at various venues and functions over the years. She has written songs and produced Cd’s for children, teens and adults including positive affirmations, music for relaxation and songs for a more positive and peaceful world. In 2014 Geraldine worked with psychologist Claudia Valenzuela, creating Therapeutic Cd’s for children and adults with PTSD..the Cd’s were based on affirmations specific to the client, who usually took part in the production of the song, along with their carers. An interest in mindfulness, creativity and connecting more deeply with herself and others has contributed to a passion for painting portraits. She holds an Associate Diploma in Health Science (Sport & Exercise) and Advanced Diploma in Arts (Mandarin).
